Exports of recovered scrap paper from the U.S. 2023, by main destination
India is the leading importer of recovered waste and scrap paper and paperboard from the U.S., with roughly 2.5 million tons imported in 2023. It was followed by Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, each with more than one million tons imported that year. The U.S. exported some 13 million tons of recovered paper scrap in 2023.
